2020 Show 1st Letter

Talents Theatre School Show: TOWNGATE THEATRE SUNDAY 22 March 2020

Dear Parents and pupils

We are now starting rehearsals for our 2020 Show, we hope you will be able to take part but if not you will still be able to attend classes as normal, please let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to perform. Show time is a great opportunity for parents and relative to see the progress of their child and is also great fun for them.  We work really hard to put on a professional show, so we need commitment from our pupils and parents, we understand that some pupils will have illness or holidays booked but please let us know if your child cannot make a class, and please attend as regularly as possible.

We will now be starting to order or have costumes made and will need a deposit from you to show your commitment to the show and enable us to start purchasing goods. We do try to keep the prices down but some show costumes can be expensive. Normally costumes will cost between £40-£55 but if pupils are in more than one routine we will keep the cost down as much as possible. Details of Costume deposits are as followed. ( please note deposits are non-refundable )

Once a week pupils        £40.00

2 – 3 Classes per week    1 payment £40.00 – 2 payment £40.00

4 or more classes and performing arts pupils   1 payment  £80.00

2nd payment £40.00

Please make payment to Mrs R J Gilligan  cheque or bank transfer 07- 01 -16  42470273, cash payments in envelope with child’s name on front please.

Once costumes have been costed any over payment of deposits will be refunded.

Extra Rehearsals.   These rehearsals are very important, as this is where we space the routines and also work out the wings and entrance sides for all pupils; this is impossible to do if pupils are missing. Once you have committed to the show all rehearsal fees will need to be paid even if you can’t attend for any reason.

Sunday 1 March – Photo shoot & Rehearsal – full make up hair & costumes are required.

Sunday 8 March – Full rehearsal no costume or make-up needed

Times & Venues for above rehearsals to be arranged

Sunday 15 March – TOWNGATE THEATRE Technical stage rehearsal

This rehearsal is the only time the pupils will be able to practice on the actual stage, also the lighting crew will set all routine lights.  All pupils must attend you will be informed of your time slots nearer the date.

Please make a note in your diary of all rehearsal dates.

BOAP & Chaperones

All Theatre School Shows need to be licenced by the local authorities. To obtain this we need a BOAP form to be filled in for each child. If you have done a show with us before we will probably have a form for you but please check, if this is your first show you will need to fill in a form at reception.

We also need a certain amount of licenced Chaperones, normally around 30 for each show. If you already have a licence please let Tara know you are available to help. If you would be interested in joining our chaperone team please make an appointment with Tara to apply. If you have a child who attends one of our company classes at least one parent should be a licenced chaperone.

Please bear in mind the time involved in obtaining a licence it can take 8 weeks or more, we will need to apply for a DBS for you and you can only use a current DBS if it has been registered or it is under a year old. We have to get our Licence around 1 month before the show so everyone needs to be licenced by then. Please don’t leave it till the last minute.

PLEASE NOTE YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED BACKSTAGE WITHOUT A CHAPERONE LICENCE.

Many Thanks Miss Hazel & Miss Sharna
